falling to the highest European water.

cascata delle marmore
This is awesome! A water column that is three jumps of 165 meters in height, with a deafening noise and refreshing splash ... it is the Cascata Delle Marmore.
They are found near Terni, the provincial capital of the region of Umbria , a few kilometers from Ferentillo (remember the Museum of Mummies course :) !)
These are artificial waterfalls created by the Romans. The history of these waterfalls starts in 271 BC when the Roman consul Marius Curius Dentatus decided to create a channel of two kilometers on the edge of the cliff Marmore. More than 2000 years later, thanks to colossal work to channel the waters of the river Velino and make them fall into the river Nera, extensions of the waterfall in the Middle Ages and the eighteenth century, you can admire the spectacular falls .

These are the highest waterfalls in Europe (165 meters!) And the world's tallest man-made water falls.

One can of course-just admire the falls from the road. We chose to enter the park (entry = 9 euros), to stroll on the trails and get closer to the fall. We saw the release of the water where the water in the net (big enough anyway) a few minutes turns into a torrent at the maximum rate.

Along the paths, vegetation is lush and you can see caves, rocks. Passing on some bridges, and especially on the balcony of love (attention without waterproof, it comes back wet!) And the upper lookout, the views are magnificent waterfall.

The ride even at times a little taste of paradise :) !

We just have one regret, that of not having waited for the illumination of the waterfall at night. Apparently it is amazing! Think about it if you go.
