Please note that Transport Canada only permits two baggage by air traveler. Your carrier may impose further restrictions on the number and size of bags allowed. Please contact your airline for specific details.


What can I bring?

The following items are allowed:
  • small handbags
  • pack containing only cameras (also apply to video cameras)
  • medications or medical equipment (oxygen bottle bag for doctors visit)
  • coats and other outerwear
  • crutches
  • canes
  • Walkers
  • containers of items essential to sustain life
  • Articles for the special needs
  • diplomatic or consular bags
  • strollers and child restraint systems
  • all items purchased duty free after security checkpoint

Personal Items

Items such as books, magazines, documents and personal electronic devices must be transported in carry-on baggage of the passenger and be there before the security checkpoint. In general, it is best to take the least amount of items possible cabin, which will accelerate the screening process.

Regulations and policies on baggage

Under the Canadian Aviation Regulations, each airline is required to establish the maximum number of items or combinations of items allowed on board an aircraft per passenger per flight. The Control Program baggage of airline must be adapted to the types and configurations of aircraft.
The amount and size of cabin baggage vary from one company to another, depending on the storage available to each aircraft space.
All cabin baggage must be properly stored in an approved location on the aircraft. Some airlines have developed a device sizing they use to approve or reject the baggage. These devices, in which should be able to drag luggage, are generally located near the check-in counters and boarding gates.
